Styling your bathroom for guests

Styling your bathroom for guests

Styling your bathroom for guests

I have a bit of a thing for beautiful bathrooms, from the design through to styling and enjoying a deep filled bubble bath, you should definitely make your bathroom feel special.

If you’re struggling to inject a little bit of wow factor into your bathroom here are some simple tips that can help brighten the room.

Freshen up

It’s obvious, but keep it clean! Give the room a good going over and ensure that any grouting is white, fresh and mould free.

Crisp, clean and soft linens will go a long way. It’s worth investing in a ‘guest’ set, matching face, hand and bath towels look lovely with neatly presented, perhaps on the ladder style rack or simple on the end of the bath.

Clean, fresh fragrances are a must, from a scented candle or diffuser to the cleaner you use. It makes such a different.

Bring it to life

The addition of fresh foliage or seasonal flowers will enhance any room. From Fir cones in winter to spring tulips or freesias, a bit of greenery goes a long way. You’ll find that succulents often thrive in a bathroom – they love the moisture in the atmosphere. Likewise – an orchid will thrive. In fact, my grandmother once told me to position an orchid on a west facing bathroom window – and it will love it. I’ve always remembered that one.

Pamper

Everyone (the blokes included!) enjoys a nice toiletry, and is there anything nicer than a divine smelling handwash?! Additional extras such as facial wipes, toothpaste and shampoo etc can be so handy for guests who’ve forgotten something = or chose to travel light of course.

Style

Adding some non functional furniture will also make a bathroom feel more luxurious. Not all of us have the space to do so, but how perfect would a chaise be in the bathroom?! Failing that, a small stool or ladder towel rail make lovely additions. Add candles, more plants, vintage cabinets, beautiful soap dispensers and toothbrush holders to bring the look together.
