Commercial office interior design

In a previous role, before I set up Epitome Styling I project managed the fit out and completion of a large office extension. It was great experience for the commercial sector. So when my hubby's business bought and relocated to new offices, it was only fair that I should lend a hand.

In typical industrial unit / office style the main challenge is natural light to working environments. I'm natural light obsessed and the thought of anyone working in an office without a window is really disturbing.

I helped with the floor plan to ensure the individual offices were broken up around the outside of the building, each with it's own window. We ensured that those office doors and components of glass to allow the light to fall into the communal office areas, and a central glazed board room which wasn't so reliant on natural light. Inter-office windows also create a light spacious feel and I banned the use of beige and we used crisp white alongside Farrow and Ball's Hague Blue which is close to their brand colours. Plants bring a bit of life to the space - although they'll be lucky if they get watered!
